: Lecture-demonstrations, workshops, master classes, residencies.

School Residency Activities: Residencies involve a combination of collaborative and individual writing projects. Storytelling and readings are a part of the workshops to introduce books and explore narrative techniques. Residencies are designed for specific class needs; they will feature myths, folklore, contemporary literature or other themes that integrate the residency with the class curriculum. Students may offer readings or readers' theater in nursing homes, community centers, day care centers and other sites. A class may also present a public reading incorporating readings of students with an open reading by members of the community.

For grades: All levels.

Geographic Area Served: Will consider residencies statewide.

Teacher and Adult/Child Workshops: Teacher Workshops focus on using literature in the classroom. They are rich with selections from poetry, stories, and novels with ideas for incorporating their use in the class and specifically to build a bridge between writing and reading. Adult/Child Workshops include sharing stories orally and writing, focusing on "Hand-Me-Down Stories" and birth stories.
